What to expect
What to Expect at Your First Visit
Your first appointment at The Center for Sinus, Allergy, & Sleep Wellness is a comprehensive evaluation — not a brief intake. Dr. Brodner takes the time to thoroughly understand your symptoms and health history before making any recommendations. Here is what a typical first visit looks like:
- Detailed symptom and health history review — Dr. Brodner listens carefully to understand the full picture of your symptoms, how long they have been present, what has been tried, and how they are affecting your daily life and sleep.
- Comprehensive head and neck examination — Including nasal endoscopy (a brief, well-tolerated in-office examination using a tiny camera) to directly visualize your nasal passages, sinuses, and throat when clinically indicated.
- In-office diagnostic imaging when needed — If sinus anatomy needs to be evaluated more precisely, the Xoran Mini-Cat low-radiation CT scanner is available on-site — so you can have imaging completed and reviewed during the same appointment, without a separate radiology visit.
- Allergy testing if appropriate — For patients with suspected allergic triggers, allergy testing can often be initiated during the same visit.
- Personalized treatment plan discussion — At the conclusion of your visit, Dr. Brodner personally reviews his findings with you, answers your questions, and outlines a clear, individualized treatment plan.
Our goal is for you to leave your first appointment with a genuine understanding of what is causing your symptoms and a confident path forward — not a vague recommendation to come back in six weeks.

Understanding your care
Before Your Appointment
To make the most of your first visit, we recommend the following:
- Complete your patient forms in advance. Downloading and completing your patient intake form before your appointment saves time and allows Dr. Brodner to review your history more thoroughly. Download the ENT patient form here.
- Gather your relevant medical records. If you have had prior sinus surgery, allergy testing, sleep studies, or imaging related to your ENT condition, bringing those records or having them sent in advance is helpful.
- Make a list of your current medications. Include prescription medications, over-the-counter drugs, supplements, and any nasal sprays or antihistamines you use regularly.
- Note your symptoms. Write down when your symptoms started, what makes them better or worse, and how they affect your daily life, sleep, and functioning — this information is invaluable for Dr. Brodner’s evaluation.

Does our practice accept my insurance?
The Center for Sinus, Allergy, & Sleep Wellness accepts most major insurance plans. We encourage you to call our office at (561) 735-8750 before your first appointment to verify that your specific plan is accepted and to understand any potential out-of-pocket costs. Our staff is happy to assist with insurance verification and coverage questions.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
Please bring your completed patient intake form (available for download above), a valid photo ID, your insurance card, a list of current medications and supplements, and any relevant prior medical records — including imaging, sleep study results, or prior ENT evaluations. If you have not completed your intake form in advance, please plan to arrive 10 to 15 minutes early so our staff can assist you.
How long will my first appointment take?
First appointments at The Center for Sinus, Allergy, & Sleep Wellness are thorough and comprehensive — they typically last 45 minutes to one hour. Because Dr. Brodner believes in spending adequate time with each patient to understand the full clinical picture before making recommendations, we do not rush first visits. Please plan accordingly.
Do I need a referral to see Dr. Brodner?
In most cases, a referral is not required to schedule a new patient appointment at The Center for Sinus, Allergy, & Sleep Wellness. However, some insurance plans do require a primary care referral before specialist visits. We recommend calling both your insurance company and our office at (561) 735-8750 to clarify your specific requirements before your appointment.
Will I receive treatment at my first appointment?
Possibly — for straightforward cases, Dr. Brodner may initiate or recommend treatment during the first visit. For patients who require in-office CT scanning, allergy testing, or additional diagnostic evaluation, some recommendations may follow those results. Dr. Brodner is committed to providing every patient with the most thorough and accurate diagnosis possible before initiating treatment.
How do I access my patient forms?
Patient intake forms are available for download on our Online Forms page. We encourage all new patients to complete these forms in advance and bring them to their appointment. You can also view your forms under the New Patients section of our website.
